November is Here
Halloween has come and gone and boy am I glad, it is my least favorite holiday EVER!!!! I am so excited for Thanksgiving and of Course Christmas. This time of year makes me so happy and grateful for all that I am surrounded by, friends, family, and fun. I always feel a sense of sadness when I hear people taking about how stressful this time of year is for them, it was never intended to be that way, it was intended to be a time of celebration for the birth of our Savior.....Jesus. This month I will be blogging about ways that I have found to keep the stress down and have a great time with what really matters the most.....my family and the celebration.

Lots of Changes
Well I have been sticking to my 6 item to do list and I must say that it is going amazing well. My list has looked something this:
1. Pray and Journal
2. Clean Kitchen
3. 20 Minutes of uninterrupted time with each one of our children
4. Prepare dinner
5. School with the kids
6. One load of laundry
Now I realize that this does not look much to do every day but for me, having a list where I can see that yes I did make progress even it was just these 6 items, and believe me some days I have still found myself tripping over Lego's, dolls, and school books at 8:00 pm but I am discovering that it is OK, even if I have to get to them at the end of the night my 6 item list must be done so I can rest my head at night knowing that my day may not have went as I planned but I did accomplish what I needed to! I never in my wildest dreams imagined a list could make me feel so happy accomplished!

Multitasking Momma...
We have all been there, to many things to get done in one day and not enough hours in the day to get it all done and then we beat ourselves up all evening because we could not get it all done. I find myself in these shoes all too often, I want to get it all done, I like having a clean house, the laundry done, and the schooling done and checked by noon......then reality slams me in the face like a ton of bricks. It is not going to happen on most days, I am a wife, a home school mom of four, and of course a small business owner. On a really great day I might make thorough half my to do list. So in an effort to feel less guilty and stop striving for perfection I am trying something new......
A 6 ITEM TO DO LIST.....YES THAT IS ALL
I am only putting six items on the list, that way I can go to bed feeling accomplished, if I think of something that ABSOLUTELY MUST BE DONE then I move that item to today's list and move something to the next days list. So far it is working, I am keeping my lists for a month to see if I can really stick with it. I will keep you posted.

Simply Sunday
I just love Sundays, they are such a calm and quiet day for us. We just finished our yummy bell pepper and mushroom omelets and our family Bible study. It is just great to sit and reflect on what I would like to do and what I need to do, how can I be a better wife and mother in the upcoming week, what did I do well and where did I fall short? Reflecting can be a powerful tool for us all, I quite often journal these during these times and occasionally enjoy going back and reading about the prayers that have been answered and explore my own growth.
So if you have a moment to yourself consider using this time to journal, but most importantly go back and remind yourself where you have been and where you are going!
